All Players Present (No Substitutes):
Same point scoring system as in the past. The team captains (denoted by first golfer on team) play against each other, the remaining players making up the 2nd match, and the combined team net score making up the 3rd match. With the lower net score (actual score less league handicap) winning the point in all 3 matches.
In case of a tie in any or all of the matches, a half a point is awarded to each team for each of the tied matches.
If there is any confusion as to who plays whom, you can follow the general rule of the lowest handicaps play each other.
One Player Mission From One Team:
The one player will play against both players on the opposing team with the lower net scores winning the points.
For the team match, the missing player will be assigned the score of net 41 to be used in calculating the team score.
One Player Missing From Each Team:
Each missing player will be assigned a net score of 41; they will tie their match and each team will awarded half a point.
The remaining two points will be played out with the 2 present players, the normal match and the team match. (Which would be their score and net 41 for each player).
Both Players Are Missing from One Team:
A net 40 or better is required by each present player in order to win all three available points.
One Player For One Team, and Both Players Missing From The Other Team:
A net 40 or better is required by the player to win his match and the team match.
The other match is defaulted and no points will be awarded. The maximum number of points awarded is two (2) points.
The non present team can not win any points even if the one player shoots net 41 or higher
League Play Finishes in Inclement Weather, but Players Do Not Finish
League play during inclement weather can only be cancelled by an agreement of the league officers. In the event that league play finishes but league golfers decide not to finish the round, the following rules will apply:
1. Golfers who do not finish will be assigned a score of 36 plus their handicap for handicap calculation.
2. Golfers who do not finish cannot earn any points for their team.
3. If one team leaves when league play has not been cancelled, and the other team stays, then the rules above for absent golfers will be used for point calculation.
4. If both teams leave, scores will be assigned per (1) above and no points will be awarded for either team.
NTMA Golf League Scoring Rules
These rules apply to standard weekly play, both position nights, and the year-end tournament.
A total of 3 points is available for scoring.
A maximum of 2 points is available under the special circumstance of one player missing for one team, and both players missing from the other team.
Scoring is based off the golfers NET score (actual score minus league handicap).
